hello to me , today i was learning about literature AND this is very vast subject, that i am going to discuss in another post…but as you can see title what is this about, so while i was learning about literatue like what are literatures? what are the examples of literature,etc etc then i searched about hindu epic RAMAYANA to know what type of literature is this ? RAMAYANA is classified primarly as an indian epic poetry or mahakavya in sanskrit literature then i searched about MAHABHARAT this is also classified as indian epic poem…after seeing these answers i got question in my mind what is the difference between POETRY AND POEM??? i searched it on google i didnt understand it then i went to youtube and watched a video titled as WHAT MAKE A POEM…A POEM…and what i understood is there is no proper definition…see the thing is poetry is an art form and poem is the end product or you can say part of poetry for example you see a poor boy standing in front of school gate holding ballons seeing other kids going into school and you can see it in the poor boy eyes wanting to experience that particular moment….so is this poetry NO its poverty actually….but the visuals you see evoke some emotion in you thats POETRY…BUT IN VISUAL AND IF YOU WRITE about that emotion by using metaphors and words that my friend is a poem i know this isnt the right way to put it but you can see poetry in anything, you can listen poetry , you can even smell poetry , you can poetry poetry poetry and also you can write poetry. and each and everyone have their own persective of poetry….these are things which separate us from all other life forms and all technologies, these are the things which tells us we are HUMAN.
